All Music.com This site contains information on artists in most fields of music. Search for information by artist, song, album, style and recording label. Artist listings generally include a biography and discography. Chopin Collection of the University of Chicago Library consists of over 400 first and early printed editions of musical compositions of Frederic Chopin (1810-1849).
Choral Public Domain Library provides free scores, primarily for choral music. It currently offers users a selection of over 5,000 scores -- most of which are in the public domain. Classical Net provides access to a wealth of information, including review sources and an overview of the development of music from the medieval period through the twentieth century.
Digital Mozart Edition The purpose of this web site operated by the Internationale Stiftung Mozarteum is to make Mozart's musical compositions widely accessible to the public, for personal study and for educational and classroom use Historic American Sheet Music Duke University's digitized collection of over 3000 pieces of American sheet music published between 1850 and 1920.
Lieder and Art Song Texts Thousands of classical song texts in over twenty languages, many with English translations.  Searchable by composer, poet, language, title, or first line. Mudcat Lyrics to thousands of blues and folksongs.
Music 102, designed by a librarian at the Juilliard School, is an online course of the history of Western music. Musi-Cal Concert schedules for folk, country, rock, and classical performers, as well as music festivals.  Searchable by performer, venue, city and more.  International in scope.
Mutopia consists of hundreds of classical music scores in text formats, some include audio files. Public Domain Music The goal of this reference site is to help users to identify public domain songs and public domain music.
Sheet Music Consortium The Consortium is a group of libraries working together to build an open collection of digitized sheet music in the public domain. WNUR's JazzWeb provides essays on styles of jazz, biographies of artists plus an array of jazz related hyperlinks.
   
In the Reference Collection of the Main Library:

Baker's Biographical Dictionary of Musicians contains professional biographies and chronological listings of works for composers, lyricists, librettists, conductors, performers and writers from the world of music.

The Guinness Encyclopedia of Popular Music provides biographical and professional information on popular music artists and related subjects. Popular music here encompasses traditional "Tin Pan Alley" and Broadway music through to rhythm and blues, punk, new wave, disco, rap and all subgenres rock and roll.

The New Grove Dictionary of American Music an "expansion" on The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians in which music topics are treated in an American context.

The annual directory of Musical America, a leading source of news and listings for classical music and the fine arts worldwide.

The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians is a twenty-volume work which "seeks to discuss everything that can be reckoned to bear on music in history and on present-day musical life.
