ATM Surcharges  You may want to check on how much using that ATM will cost you. Here's the site. Information on what surcharges are, how to avoid paying them, and pertinent reports and news. The site is provided by a law professor at the John Marshall School of Law in Chicago.

Bankrate.com  Free, current rates for savings accounts, credit cards and mortgages. Includes rates for home-equity, personal and auto loans, as well as checking-account-related fees. Rates updated weekly.

BanxQuote  Daily rates on auto finance and insurance, home finance, consumer finance (credit cards), money and investments, global finance, and investment library.

Consumer Credit Counseling Service  Non-profit organization offering confidential and professional debt counseling. Includes bankruptcy, savings programs, legal pointers, getting out of debt, suggested readings, and more.

Experian  Provides consumer and business credit, direct marketing, automotive and real estate information services. Consumer and business credit reports are available for a fee.

Bank.com  Bank.com is different from other online banking web sites in that it offers Internet users a choice in banking: bank with a local community bank or bank over the Internet with PNC Bank. For those who prefer a local institution, the site provides a BankFinder to help locate the nearest bank.  For those who prefer the Web, Bank.com contracted PNC Bank to accept deposits and make loans in all 50 states. 

Banking Center  Sponsored by the New York Times, Banking Center features daily quotes on online banking, loans and deposits offered by financial institutions in each market. It covers metropolitan, state-by-state, regional and national composite benchmarks for each banking product, as well as useful snapshot profiles of the banking institutions. Benchmark quotes are generally based on the three largest financial institutions in each state, based on asset size and market share.

FDIC Safe Internet Banking  Provides tips on online banking including: how to confirm that an online bank is legitimate and that your deposits are insured; how to keep your personal information private and secure; understanding your rights as a consumer; and learning where to go for more assistance from banking regulators.

Online Banking Report   Online Banking Report covers a single retail banking topic in depth each month. Recent topics include online lending, bill presentment, mortgage lending, differentiation strategies, and personalization methods. Meant for the banking professional but many topics and news features are of interest to the general consumer.
