Congressional Medal of Honor
Facts, history, recipients of the nation's highest military award.
MacArthur Fellows Often called the "Genius Award," the prize is awarded to people of creativity and future promise. Nobel Prize
Current and past winners of the prize listed by category or alphabetically.  Includes information about the prizes and educational games.
Presidential Medal of Freedom
The nation's highest civilian award, recognizes exceptional meritorious service.
Pulitzer Prize
Awarded for excellence in journalism and the arts.
Spingarn Medal
African-Americans are recognized for distinguished merit and achievement.
Access Science
Library online database.  Access Science is the online version of the respected McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science & Technology.  Under each scientific category, such as "Chemistry" or "Physics" is a link to a list of Nobel prize winners in that category.   Arranged in reverse chronological order, each winner has a link to related encyclopedia articles on the subject.

Library online database.  The database link to "Award Winners and Top Picks" provides a menu of what must be every conceivable literary award ever given.  Select the award to find a list of winners and their winning novels.  A brief summary of each work is provided.
In the Library you may consult both print resources and the online databases listed on this page for more information.  Awards, Honors, and Prizes  describes awards given in the U.S. and Canada for achievements in virtually every field of endeavor.  Many general almanacs list the better known awards.
