California Codes  
Search the California Codes, Constitution, and bills before the California legislature by subject or keyword.  

California Code of Regulations  
Search Regulations by Agency, section, title, or keywords. Or use the Table of Contents to guide your search. A well designed site with good use instructions.  
What are the California Codes?  The statutory laws of California consist of acts passed by the California Legislature or by
the California electorate through the initiative process. Statutes are organized by subject
and published in the California Codes.

What is the California Code of Regulations?  The California Code of Regulations is the rules and procedures promulgated by state agencies which
allow the implementation of statutes. Regulations are a binding source of law similar to statutes and cases.

   

United States Code   Search by popular name, public law number, or statute.  Cornell University Law School also has the United States Code online that allows searching by section and subsection of the code and keyword searches of sections.  Cornell's version is very easy to search.

Code of Federal Regulations   From the National Archives and Records Administration, the CFR is full text online. Search the entire set of CFR databases by keyword  and search the Federal Register for related documents. 

 

What is the United States Code?  The laws of the federal government consist of bills passed the Senate and the House of Representatives.   The bills that become law are called Statutes.  The compilation statutes, or federal laws, is the official U.S. Code
published by the Government Printing Office.

 

 

What is the Code of Federal Regulations?  Federal regulations are administrative rules and procedures which are based on the acts in the United States Code. Each federal agency has the responsibility of drafting its own regulations.  These regulations supply detailed explanations and interpretations for the broad mandates of congressional acts. Regulations are a binding source of law.
