Santa Monica Bikeways
Map The Bicycle Master Plan provides a wide variety programs for
commuter and recreational bicyclists in Santa Monica by creating a network
of local and regional bikeways. The City provides a continuous and
coordinated network of bikeways to provide access to businesses, schools,
parks, beaches, and points outside of the City. Additional information is

And don't forget that there are plenty places for kids to play and well as
jogging and volleyball on the beach.

Encourage young people to develop healthy
lifestyles using City programs. PAL,
the Police Activity League, offers free educational, cultural, and athletic
activities for boys and girls ages six to seventeen who live or go to school
in Santa Monica.
Playground Partnership, a collaborative effort of Santa Monica and the
Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District, allows school-aged youth, their
friends and families unsupervised use of school playgrounds for recreation
during non-school and non-CREST hours. Playgrounds offer fields, equipment,
exercise paths, basketball courts, handball courts and restrooms.
CREST, Child Care,
Recreation, Enrichment and Sports, is a before and after school program for
children in kindergarten through 5th grade that provides a rich array of
flexible program options for students and families.

Active Living By Design University of North Carolina Chapel Hill
created this site “to increase physical activity through community design,
public policies and communications strategies.” On the site’s homepage,
visitors can browse through sections that include information on “Active
Living Essentials”, “Active Living Programs”, and “Active Living Resources”.
