Consumer Health Complete
Library online database.  Locate articles or use the the medical encyclopedia for current information about nutrition.  In addition to articles and reference books, the database presents several good videos such as "Test Your Nutrition Intuition," "Gut-friendly Nutrition," and "Healthy Skills for your Grill."  Lots of good information on herbs and nutritional supplements and alternative medical suggestions for health through a healthy diet.
Nutrition as a subject heading in iBistro, the Library online catalog retrieves an extensive list of relevant books on the subject.  Try more specific subject searches such as "Nutrition Athletes;" "Nutrition Children;" "Nutrition Disorders;" "Nutrition Health Aspects;" "Nutrition Psychological Aspects"; or "Nutrition Requirements" to narrow your search.

Information on food counts is available in Complete Book of Food Counts by Corinne Netzer.

American Dietetic Association
The Website offers a wealth of information to the general public as well as to nutrition professionals.  "Tip of the Day" and "Monthly Feature" highlight current nutritional problems while the Food and Nutrition Information link provides online brochures, tools, and links to other Web resources.
Nutritional Navigator
Tufts University site that rates nutrition Websites on a 25 point scale.  Organized into nutrition topics such as sites for women, men, seniors, special dietary needs, etc.  Easy to use and authoritative as the Websites are reviewed and rated by Tufts nutritionists.  Great place to start when investigating nutrition on the Web.
USDA National Nutrient Database
Enter the food you wish to check or a broad category of food groups.  Most common foods, such as "cheeseburger" retrieve a list of possibilities (fast food regular with bun or McDonald's for example) to help you narrow your search.  Information provided includes minerals, starches, fats, vitamins, etc.
Nutrition Facts Analyzer
Tons of information on this site.  Search by food or by fast food restaurant.  Discover the nutritional facts about KFC's popcorn chicken for example or the values in an egg bagel.  The site also provides nutrition tools that allow you to find foods lowest carbohydrates or estimate the calories burned during exercise; online articles; and discussions of various nutritional topics.
USDA Food & Nutrition
Good site for consumers with information on dietary health, food labeling and packaging, food recalls, and food technology.  The Consumer Section of the site offers an interactive healthy eating tool so you can judge your eating habits online.  The Organic Section under Labeling and Consumer Protection is also worth a visit.
International Food Information Council
Adult, Child & Adolescent Nutrition; Dietary Fats; Food Ingredients; Obesity & Weight Management are some of the topics to explore.  Each section offers educational booklets, research, articles, FAQs, and other tools and materials.  There is also an extensive section on food safety.
 
Prevention Magazine
The magazine, founded in  , aims to heighten awareness of health information and is generally respected as an authoritative, trustworthy source for practical health information.  Prevention is indexed with full text articles in the Library online database Health & Wellness Resource Center.
Linus Pauling Institute Micronutrient Information Center
The Center is a source for scientifically accurate information regarding the roles of specific vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals (plant chemicals that may affect health), and other nutrients in preventing disease and promoting health.  The articles are easily read and understood; the research reports tend to be highly technical.
