CheckFree Ticker Symbol Lookup  Enter the ticker symbol and get a current quote. Look for stocks, bonds, money market funds, mutual funds. 

Day Trading  From the SEC (Securities & Exchange Commission), this site provides an overview of day trading with a link to their publication, "Day Trading: Your Dollars at Risk." Also includes fact sheets, tips, and warnings about day trading and day traders.

The Internet & Online Trading  Also from the SEC, this site provides tips on investing wisely and avoiding fraud on the Internet.

Investing Online Resource Center  Learn the how-to's of investing, expand your knowledge if you are already familiar with online investing basics, try their investing simulator center to test different investing scenarios.

Kiplinger.com  Kiplinger, known for its investment advice, presents a ranking of online brokers using a weighted system. Check for additional articles in Kiplinger's magazine that rank brokers.

In the Library:

As with online banking, books may provide general information on security trading online but recent magazine and newspaper articles are often a better source of information.

    Search for news and articles on online trading. An extensive business, company and industry database with news, articles, financial documents, rankings, company histories, industry reports, and more. Searchable by company, industry, or article keyword.

    A large periodicals database featuring the full text and citations for newspaper and magazine articles. Search for articles on online investing, electronic trading, day trading, etc.
     
  • Newsbank
    Consists of two databases: America’s Newspapers, which indexes the full text of the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Christian Science Monitor, Orange County Register, San Diego Union-Tribune, USA Today, the Washington Post, and the San Francisco Chronicle from roughly 1985 to the present; and Noticias en Español, which provides full text articles in Spanish.
